The highly anticipated Fujifilm XT4 is finally announced Thanks to Fujifilm, I was able to bring the pre-production set to Eastern Hokkaido to photograph the wildlife there And I am also honoured to be one of the 4 photographers selected globally to endorse the camera.. Hi. I am looking at getting more into landscape and wildlife photography. I have used Nikon and Canon but looking at this I wonder if you can tell me what zoom lens would be a good starting point on the TX-4 for birds (eagles, waterbirds etc) as well as landscape photos. I have a Nikon D5200 with a Sigma DC 18-250 lens and a Canon Eos 80D with a EF 70-300 lens. Being Dyslexic I like the easy menu system of the Canon Q menu so if that is also on the Fuji Tx4 It would be awesome. Your photos and videos look awesome. Thanks for sharing.
thanks… actually there is only 1 zoom lens good for wildlife for Fujifilm.. that is the XF100-400 mm lens.. or the prime lens xf 200 mm f2.. Its competent enough.. but of cos it does not have the long primes that Canon or Nikon have.. cheers
Hi William! Excellent video with wonderful birds and in a beautiful place… I’ve got a question for the combo X-T4 + 100-400 mm lens. How does the autofocus work? Is it quick enough? Does it keep up? I have a D500 + 200-500 mm lens and would love to jump to a mirrorless system, more specifically this Fuji one. Should I? What do you recommend? Thanks in advance! Cheers!
Hi Max .. thanks for the comments..The XT4 is definitely competent enough.. I have used the XT3 for wildlife in Kenya before too.. you may see the coverage here http://www.williamchua.com/blog/masai-video-coverage-with-the-xt3/So XT4 is a great improvement over XT3…. The lens is good by itself.. of cos if I were to use it with a 2XTC, the focusing might slow down a bit… but the 1,4XTC is still good enough for wildlife.. cheers
