I made a personal trip to Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina recently during the Chinese New Year Break
Thanks to Fujifilm Singapore, I managed to use the Xpro2 during the trip
Not exactly a review of the xpro2
But just sharing my experiences and images taken with the camera
I have to admit, I did not really like its predecessor, xpro1. So I was not really looking forward to the xpro2, especially since I am so happy with the xt1
But i have to say that I am very impressed with the xpro2 during this trip
i loved it so much that most of my images taken during the trip was with the xpro2.. rather than my xt1
And I did not need any DSLR at all..
At first glance, the camera looks and feels great.
have always loved Fuji’s design
And the camera comes with a
24 MP X-Trans CMOS III Sensor
273 Autofocus points
iso 200 to 12800, expandable to 100-51200
1/8000 sec maximum shutter speed and 1/250 sec flash sync
new Acros black and white film simulation
Much has been said about the focussing issue of the Fuji cameras
But I am happy to say that its no longer a problem with the Xpro2
Focussing is pretty good, even in low light conditions.
Using the camera in the streets of Mostar, Sarajevo, Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Split and Ljubljana is a breeze
I love the fact that they have also included a dual SD Card slot
Just like any professional DSLRs
So I can either do a mirrored backup, write raws to 1 card, and jpgs to another or just
choose to write sequential
As with the Xt1, the camera comes with wifi as well
Which means that I can transmit images or control it remotely with my Phone.
Perfect for holidays or for work
The camera comes with a new Acrosfilm simulation which I really liked.
The look and feel of the black and white is fantastic..
Also at ISO 12800, the image is still usable with nice grains.
Image below is taken with iso 12800 + acrosfilm simulation
During the trip, I was very happy to be just using the Xpro2 and Xt1
And for this post, all images are taken with the XPro2 + the acrosfilm simulation + 56mm apd
Images here have been slightly edited for contrast in Lightroom.
Is there anything that I had wanted in the Xpro2 ?
Well.. maybe a flip screen..
Having used the xt1 for quite a while, i really enjoyed the flexibility of shooting with a flip
screen.. so maybe thats something I missed with the Xpro2
But nonetheless, this is a great camera for my work and travel and street photography
Might do another post with coloured photos and perhaps more images from the cities
of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina
These are very beautiful cities, and I would really like to be back soon
update
to see how the camera performs in back lit situations..
