Clothed in black and white, the Black-Necked cranes form a picture of elegance in stillness and in flight. These cranes flocked to the Phobjikha valley in Bhutan during the winter migration season every year. With less than 3000 of them left, the Black-Necked cranes faced the threat of extinction. We hope to raise awareness of the plights of the Black-Necked cranes and the conservation efforts by participating in the Black-Necked crane festival organized annually by the Phobjikha community with assistance and sponsorship from the Royal Society for the Protection of Bhutan (RSPN) and International Crane Foundation (ICF).
